I played International Ragnarok Online for six hours today. Just like the good ol' days! OK, so not THAT old but only a few years. Still, feels nostalgic around this time of the year to see snow and Xmas decorations around Prontera. Did some partying and leveled pretty well.

so i'm 10 books deep into my reread of Wheel of Time, and i have absolutely no idea how they're going to resolve the ending in only 2 more books. The Black Tower/Taim story is going to have to take a book by itself, and the Seanchan another, and then the prep for the last battle and the battle itself....i don't envy sanderson at all.
And I wish all of you the very best for the holiday season =) |

Went to Grant & Green after work to see The Beautiful Losers live. No cover. More cash for drinks. Pine & Battery was also supposed to perform, trading off sets. But they were replaced.

It seems Brittany Murphy is dead from a "flu-like" illness. H1N1? She was only 32. You may remember she voiced Luan in King of the Hill. She was also in the Sin City movie.
I finally got my Puyo Puyo 7 psp game in the mail. It took 3 weeks. Play-Asia said that delivery service out of HK was severly cut by reduced flights from the global recession.
I dug up an old dominoe set. I also got a Chinese dominoe set. Chinese invented dominoes. They're based off of the gwat pai that Chinese use to play pai gao and tien gao. hey guys, it's time to start planning Talcon 6! Yes, it's almost time for my birthday gamesfesta, so please keep Jan 30 or Feb 6th free =)
And now, i'm off contract until february, so expect a ton more posts, like my much delayed italy trip.
I saw the movie RAMEN GIRL last night on netflix instant stream. It's like an updated sequel to Tampopo-- Brittany Murphy plays a girl abandoned in tokyo by her boyfriend. In her depression, she decides to apprentice herself at a ramen shop, where she discovers herself through the secret of ramen. The movie's not gonna win any awards, or be the best movie ever, but heather and i loved the hell out of it. It was so tokyo that i was feeling homesick, and the cantankerous old ramen shop owner is my favorite japanese actor. Plus, there is an awesome cameo by the guy who played Goro, the truck driving hero of Tampopo. I have to say, i really enjoyed it.
Also saw recently Red Cliff in theatres. it was dynasty warriors, the movie. Right down to arrows being supremely powerful. Man, i really wish laz and ryan could have watched it with me, just for old times sake. and they got actors to look EXACTLY right.
I saw metallica in concert last week, and i got kirk hammett's guitar pick =) |

Sent off a holiday care package to Trav.
Then went to Japantown to meet up with some of the Anime FX people.
I went to the Fillmore box office and they said that there are NO MORE tickets for the January 24th Utada Hikaru concert. %*&#!! Damn ticket re-sellers cleaned them out. I don't want to pay freakin' 5x ticket price.

Board game night tonight. Continuing out Arkham Horror game. We finally sealed enough gates to prevent the old one from awakening and bringing about destruction. Go, investigators.

Let the war on Christmas rage on!
I'm fine with a generic inclusive secularized version of Xmas that makes everyone feel good. Jesus may be called "the reason for the season" but research shows that he may have actually been born much earlier in the year. But the official church changed the date so as to take away winter solstice from tribespeople.
